Dr. Titilola Afolabi (she/her)
Director of Clinical Nutrition and Cultural Standards
Titilola Afolabi is an Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Translational Science. Her work centers on the intersection of clinical pharmacotherapy, nutrition optimization, and workforce development within complex healthcare systems. As a Board-Certified Nutrition Support Pharmacist (BCNSP), she specializes in the systematic management of parenteral nutrition and the optimization of micronutrients in high-acuity pediatric populations, particularly infants and children with gastrointestinal and inflammatory disorders. Her clinical and research efforts focus on improving the safety, precision, and outcomes of nutrition and pharmacologic therapies through evidence-based systems-level approaches.
Dr. Afolabi maintains an active research program examining parenteral nutrition practices, biologic therapy optimization in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease, and antimicrobial stewardship. Her work includes national gap analyses of nutrition practices and investigations into therapeutic variability, contributing to efforts aimed at standardization, quality improvement, and guideline development.
In parallel, she has established a scholarly focus on professional identity formation and workforce development in healthcare. Her research explores how bias, organizational culture, and team socialization influence clinician behavior, interprofessional collaboration, and ultimately patient outcomes.
